Happy Friday!

A short week but a busy one. Thank you to all of those families who have returned the TELUS Spark field trip forms thus far. Please keep those forms coming in...we don't visit the site until Monday, October 23rd so you have lots of time. I am looking for 1 more volunteers for this field study. Please email directly if you are able to join us on this day.

This week we have been working on furthering our understanding of the Trembling Aspen tree and pointillism. Our students took on this art method with patience, focus and concentration. The end results are absolutely amazing. Stay tuned for images of this glorious work.

In Math we continue working on patterns - both increasing and decreasing patterns.

Science focus has been on natural light sources vs. artificial light sources and living organisms that use bioluminescence for a particular purpose. Ask your child which living organism they selected to further research and why this living organisms uses bioluminescence.

We also started our basket-ball unit in gym this week. The students have been working on their hand eye coordination, ball handling skills, and dribbling skills.

We are also finishing up our first read aloud Fatty Legs. Our next novel study will be The Wild Robot. Although this is a read aloud, students are more than welcome to acquire a book of their own to follow along with however this is not mandatory in any way. Some students may simply feel more comfortable following along with a book to themselves.
