We took joy in the snow this morning while constructing our 3D versions of a praying mantis. The students were very creative in how they used the snow. Can you spot the head, thorax, abdomen, eyes, antennae?

Unfortunately our Alien In-Line skating was cancelled today...instructor was will....the class will be rescheduled for another day. Fingers crossed the class will resume tomorrow for us all.

We took the time to complete a reading comprehension task connected to a Canadian Olympic athlete Summer McIntosh, a Canadian swimmer. We took the time to determine the difference between FACTS AND OPINIONS as we found additional information on this athlete.

Today we played Prime or Composite TIC-TAC-TOE. This game is a simply set-up (2 dice, paper, pencil) and helps in strengthen basic multiplication facts AND skills to determine the factors of a rolled number. Ask your child how to play.

We started our conversation today about Peer Pressure and talked about examples of bad peer pressure and how we could work through these situations. We are hoping these teachings will assist with the transition over to RT in the fall.

Happy Earth Day! Students worked on an Earth Day pledge today! Ask your child what their pledge was they promised to try and take on.

We also got out this afternoon to give thanks to our land. We did a community yard clean-up with our Grade 1 buddies and enjoyed a large group game with the other Grade 4 students.

Room 4 is also starting their understanding of Prime and Composite numbers in Math. Ask your child how they decide which numbers are PRIME and which are COMPOSITE.

Our Lumio focus this afternoon was focused on prime/composite numbers AND fine tuning our multiplication facts. The students were working on the 4, 5 and 6 times tables. These would be wonderful areas for students to continue working on at home through flash cards, dice games or card games.

Remember that the doors open tomorrow for the farewell at 1:45 pm. The assembly will begin at 2:00pm.
